Family training

Categories Main

So you are interested in training with your children, but you aren’t exactly sure what that means?

At Sangrok we are a family orientated club, especially our Saturday morning classes. This means that:

  • Children of all ages are encouraged to train with their parents. The youngest children who can train for a full session are about 4 years old, however, this does depend on the amount of parental involvement.
  • We have a play area where younger children can play while still visible to their parents who are training.
  • Very young children (3 years old) often train for shorter periods, then join in the play area while the parents and older siblings continue to train. Parents will need to keep an eye on their children, especially if they re-join training.
  • It is common for parents to bring morning tea, tablets, colouring in or other items for the play area to entertain younger students while other family members train. This is ok!
  • We are not strict on students and families in regards to etiquette, and will do as much as we can (safety being the only exception) to allow everyone to train. Reach out if you have any concerns, ideas or questions.

The majority of instructors have young children, or joined taekwondo in order to spend time with their children. We understand the importance of bonding as a family, and we encourage that through our club. We will do what we can to allow families to enjoy the benefits of the club. As we are often heard saying, a family that kicks together, stays together!

Definitely contact us if you have any questions.

Thanks!
