Thank you to all our members who have trained with us this year! We have had an excellent year of taekwondo and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you at our end of season party

As it is getting warmer, make sure you bring a labelled drink bottle with you to each class!

END OF YEAR PARTY AND PRESENTATION

We will be holding our party and presentation at Franklin Recreational Playground on Sunday 11 December from 2-4pm and we would LOVE to see you there! This is the first end of season party we have been able to host after 2 years of Covid restrictions so we’re really looking forward to it! Families are very welcome – just let us know how many will be coming along so we can cater for you!

So that we can cater for our party, please RSVP to info@sangrok.net.au and also let us know about any dietary requirements.

BLACK BELT GRADING

Congratulations to all our students who attended the black belt grading on Sunday 27 November. The grading took 6 hours and covered all parts of our curriculum. Laura, Louis, Xander, and Dennyse successfully achieved their Sangrok cho dan bo black belt and we look forward to then continuing to work hard towards their 1st dan black belt next year. Darien was awarded with Sangrok 3rd dan and Trip successfully achieved Sangrok 4th dan.

UPCOMING COLOURED BELT GRADING

Our last grading for 2022 will be held on Saturday 10 December. Invitations have been sent out and RSVPs are due Saturday 3 December. Our 10.30am class on Saturday 10 December will be cancelled (for this day only) – if you normally attend this class, come along to one of our other classes instead!

SUMMER TSHIRTS

From December to February students may wear a tshirt to training with your dobok pants (full uniform must be worn for grading and other events).

Our preference is that students wear a Sangrok tshirt available from our store. They are very modestly priced from around $20 (we don’t put any extra mark up on these items to keep prices as low as possible). Sangrok acknowledges that families are under many pressures and as a result also allow:

  • A PLAIN white tshirt – with no writing, logos, or images
  • A PLAIN navy tshirt – with no writing, logos, or images

We ask that you respect our dojang by ensuring that the tshirt that you wear complies with the above requests – logos, images, text, or tshirts in other colours are not appropriate. If you don’t have a tshirt that is suitable, you can still wear your dobok to any of our classes.

2022 – 2023 TRAINING DATES

The final class for 2023 will be on Saturday 17 December. The instructing team will be taking a well earned break over the Christmas and New Years Eve period and training will resume from Wednesday 4 January 2023. Please note – fees are calculated based on yearly training costs, then divided over 26 fortnightly payments, therefore student fees are still payable over the 2 week shut down period in December.

EQUIPMENT FOR SALE

We are upgrading some of our training equipment and we will be selling our black double kicking paddles for just $5 each – this might make a nice Christmas gift and would be a great training tool for over the break. If you would like to purchase, please just let us know via email and we will reserve one for you!

BOOKING AND CHECKING IN FOR CLASSES

Don’t forget to book into classes using the Clubworx portal! It helps us to keep class numbers to a safe and effective size, and if we need to let you know about changes to your class it makes it easy to get in contact with you! If you don’t register for the class it also may not count towards your grading requirements!

As the weather is getting warmer we are getting more people coming along to classes – Blue belts and above are encouraged to come along to the 6.30pm intermediate classes!

SOCIALS

Follow us on social media: InstagramFacebook, and our private Sangrok Students Facebook group, where you can chat about training, ask questions, post memes about Master Pravin’s “easy training”, and share photos – this is also where we will advertise informal training sessions!
