We hope you have all enjoyed the summer break and are ready for another great year of training at Sangrok! Now that the holidays are over we are back to our usual class schedule and are following our COVIDSafe training plan during each session.
We’re exciting to be bringing you an interesting term of classes as well as extra training opportunities – see below the workshops offered this term.
Like many small businesses, we have been hit hard by the Covid pandemic and the 2020 and 2021 lockdowns. We would love it if you could help to support our volunteer-run club by sharing our posts on social media, or by leaving a 5 star review of Sangrok on Google (if you’re not comfortable leaving a 5 star review please let us know so we can improve our club). We will also be running a bring-a-friend promotion and will send out more information about it soon.
Workshops
This term we will be running a number of fun workshops:
Weapons workshop | Sunday 20 February, 10am to 12pm – An introduction to weapons training including stances, grips, basic striking and defence drills. We will be using plastic bo staffs, wearing head protection is preferred and using nil to low contact so this workshop is suitable for all students, including children.
Beginner workshop | Sunday 20 March, 10am to 12pm – This workshop is specifically aimed at beginning students to fine tune your techniques as well as experience a mock-grading.
Self defence workshops | TBA – Our self defence workshops focus on interpreting poomsae for self defence against habitual acts of physical violence scenarios.
Women’s kick and chat session | EOI – If you’re interested in attending an informal training session followed by drinks, snacks and a chat, please let us know by email (info@sangrok.net.au)
All our workshops can be booked via our website: Workshop registration
Master Pravin’s February challenge
If you’re like some of us on the Sangrok team and you’re feeling a bit slow after the summer break, Master Pravin has challenged our students to walk and/or run 50km this February – share your progress (or your blisters) on the Sangrok Students Facebook page!
Insurances
We are still in the process of negotiating the best insurance for you and will let you know about insurance fees for 2022 as soon as possible.
Socials
Follow us on social media: Instagram, Facebook, and our private Sangrok Students Facebook group, where you can chat about training, ask questions, post memes about Master Pravin’s “easy training”, and share photos – this is also where we will advertise informal training sessions!
