It has been a fantastic start to 2025 with lots of fun instructor choice classes this month. It’s also great to see head instructor, Trip, back on the mats after his Achilles injury in December. We have some new students who have joined us recently, so please be sure to make them welcome when you see them at the club!
NEW CLASSES FOR 2025
Don’t forget our two new classes start soon!
– Sangrok Mini! for kids aged 4-7 is starting from February 8 at 10.30 am on Saturdays. We would love for you to share this with your network; share our social media post or pick up some flyers from the sign in table!
– Remember that this class is FREE for term 1 for siblings or children of existing members – just let us know if you want to join in!
– We are also adding an intermediate class on Thursdays at 6.30 pm from 6 February.
CLASS REGISTRATION AND SELECTING CLASSES
Please remember to register for your classes – this means that we can plan ahead for assistant instructors to attend specific classes and communicate with students who have signed up for a class.
With a couple of our Defence families being posted out of Canberra, our Thursday classes are very small at the moment – this is a great opportunity to come along to the Thursday classes if you want a small group classes and plenty of 1:1 attention!

TRAINING IN SUMMER
To keep safe in summer, please remember to drink lots of water throughout the day and bring a drink bottle to class. T-shirts (plain white, plain navy or a Sangrok t-shirt) are allowed in the summer months (December, January, and February) only.
ANNUAL INSURANCE
In the past, individual AusTKD membership and insurance fees have been covered by Sangrok. As you will have read in our end-of-year email, we need to pass these fees on to students from 2025 onwards. We are a volunteer club, committed to keeping fees as low as possible however rising costs over the last 5 years have made some changes inevitable. Your regular membership fees will stay the same, but from 2025, the $30 per person membership and insurance fee will be added to your membership payment in February, with a $100 cap per family. If you have any questions, or would like us to space out your insurance fees, please just let us know.
SOCIAL EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS
The Sangrok Team is planning a range of fun events for 2025. If you have any ideas or requests for social outings or workshops, please get in touch!
