COVIDSafe update
Sangrok continues to be committed to providing taekwondo training in accordance with state and federal restrictions, and Australian Taekwondo recommendations. The ACT is currently operating at stage 3.1 restrictions. Please ensure you have read Sangrok’s COVIDSafe Return to Training plan. Compliance with this plan ensures that we are following relevant restrictions for the health and safety of our students. The plan includes information about:
– Maximum class sizes and pre-registration for classes
– Handwashing, hygiene and cleaning expectations and commitments
– Arrival and departure procedures
Sangrok would like to thank all our students for their assistance and understanding in supporting us as we implement these changes.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Cancelling classes
Class sizes at Sangrok are limited to 22 students. The reasons for this are two-fold and in the best interests of our students:
1) A limit of 22 students allows us to maintain appropriate social distancing in our classes
2) By having classes of no more than 22 students we can ensure that all our students are receiving quality, personalised instruction.
With this in mind, it is important to ensure that you are mindful of the classes you have registered for and that you cancel any classes that you won’t be attending, preferably at least 1 day beforehand. Many of our classes have waitlists of up to 10 students, so other students miss out on attending classes when cancellations are not made. You can cancel via the portal (instructions here). If you need your portal login details or assistance with cancelling classes, please contact us.
We understand that it can be frustrating for students who miss out on classes that are fully booked, however, maintaining class limits and social distancing is an important aspect of our commitment to providing quality, personalised, and safe training. If there is a class that you would like to attend, we recommend making future bookings, where possible, to secure a spot and keep an eye on your email for notifications when waitlist spots become available.
Workshop recap
In August Sangrok ran a self defence workshop and a senior belt training seminar. Thank you to Sabonim Pravin and Trip who ran these seminars. The feedback has been excellent and we look forward to running more workshops in term 4.
Instructor update
Trip Sir has returned from his ADF deployment to the Victorian border and will be taking Saturday morning and Wednesday night classes from this week. We would like to assure our students that Trip Sir has not been in Victoria, in any NSW hotspots, or in contact with affected persons, therefore, he has no need to isolate before returning to training. Welcome back Trip!
Grading
The spring grading will be held on September 26. Students will be invited to participate based on attendance and demonstrated competency.
Please remember that any students at red belt and above who wish to grade and have met the minimum attendance requirements need to complete and submit their pre-grading assessment this week.
The minimum class attendance requirements for grading are:
– White belt to red belt | Training two or more time per week – 3 months
– White belt to red belt | Training once per week – 6 months
– Red belt and above | Training two or more time per week – 6 months + pre-grading assessment
– Red belt and above | Training once per week – 12 months + pre-grading assessment
Invitations will be sent by email soon. If you don’t receive an email and believe you should be grading, please speak to your instructor.
