Sangrok is, above all, a family taekwondo club, with a focus on families training together. The majority of our members are parents training alongside their kids, but we also have plenty of adults, teens and kids who come along individually. Because we love family training, our classes are mixed ages and abilities, divided into beginner and intermediate classes. At times we may divide our classes into adult and child groups to work on different aspects of our curriculum. We also have a special class, Sangrok Mini! for our youngest students who don’t want to train with a parent in our family classes.
Beginner training – These classes are perfect for families and people who are new to taekwondo. These classes focus on building strong foundations for taekwondo in a fun and engaging environment.
Intermediate training – These classes are designed to help students from blue belt and above to learn and develop intermediate and advanced taekwondo skills to achieve black belt and beyond. These classes are open to all students, regardless of belt level, however, fundamental skills are not explicitly covered in these classes and they are generally a faster pace compared to the beginner classes.
Sangrok Mini! – Our newest class is just for our youngest members! Kids aged 4-7 years old will learn the fundamentals of taekwondo in a fun, fast-paced class, with lots of games and encouragement!
Our curriculum and grading structure is term based, however, we do not break for school holidays throughout the year, except for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period*. Gradings are generally held on the last Saturday of the school term, however, official grading dates are advised by email and newsletter.
The club is closed on public holidays.
Our current timetable is below. Please note that all ages and all belts are welcome to all classes, but the focus for that class may be on beginner foundation skills or more intermediate skills.
Students must register their class attendance. Any questions please contact us.
* Fees are calculated based on yearly training costs, then divided over 26 fortnightly payments, therefore student fees are still payable over the 2 week shut down period. Students are welcome to request a suspension of membership payments for breaks of 4 weeks or longer. Missed training sessions will be credited for future classes or workshops.
Our curriculum has a different focus each week such as sparring, poomsae, kicking drills, fitness and foundation skills. Grading dates are announced through the newsletter and are usually the Saturday before school holidays.
