Happy new year and welcome to 2019! Thank you to everyone who completed the survey in late 2018. We have made a range of improvements to the club based on this feedback. Thank you for your support.
Training recommences on Monday the 7th January.
CLASSES
Timetable – New Year – New Timetable! After careful consideration and reviewing feedback we have revised our timetable. Please see here.
Curriculum. Over the break there has been a huge amount of work put into improving the curriculum and grading requirements. We strongly encourage everyone to review the website, especially the student content area. See your instructors for your password. There is detailed information on the curriculum as well as information on grading requirements. Definitely check it out.
Sparring. Students are strongly encouraged to purchase their own sparring gear this year. This is for hygiene considerations. Chest guards are $40 and there are a range of shin/foot/arm guards available. Please remember to bring a mouthguard.
EVENTS
Workshops Due to popular demand, we have a range of workshops to offer in 2019. All can be found here. Introduction to Self Defence will be the first workshop on the 8th March.
Sangrok Club Competition. Sangrok is introducing a yearly competition to introduce students to the competitive side of Taekwondo, as well as to highlight the skills of our students, in a relatively low stress environment. It will be held on the 11 May. The Sangrok 2019 Competition will focus on individual poomsae, pair or family poomsae and individual sparring. Cost is free and all students are expected to attend. This competition is designed to introduce the competitive aspects of Taekwondo, including scoring and competition structure, without having students directly enter a competition with other schools.
Grading. The next grading will be on the 6th April. More details closer to the date. Please see the revised curriculum to ensure you know what is required for your next promotion.
Sign-In System. In 2019 it is critical that everyone signs in to every class. This will enable us to measure class attendance and review the success of the new timetable. It will also be the basis for determining if attendance requirements have been met for grading. We will be slowly rolling over to the electronic management system for other aspects of club management as they year progresses.
Summer Training Shirts. Men’s, Ladies and Kid’s Sangrok t-shirts are now available to purchase for $35 each. These t-shirts can be worn during training in the summer months between 1st of Nov 2018 and 28 Feb 2019. There are still some cotton style shirts available for $25.
