NEW YEAR, NEW DOJANG
Welcome back to a new year of training at Sangrok. We are so pleased to have almost completed our dojang renovations over the break. The club is looking (and smelling!) great and we think you will like it! We hope you have enjoyed some downtime over the break and we look forward to seeing you again at a class soon!
JANUARY TRAINING TIMETABLE
We return to training on Wednesday 5 January and our normal class timetable will resume from Wednesday onwards. Please remember to book your classes via the Clubworx portal.
There will be no classes on Wednesday 26 January due to the Australia Day public holiday.
COVIDSAFE TRAINING
All of us at Sangrok are committed to providing COVIDSafe taekwondo training that addresses the ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. As usual, the health and wellbeing of our Sangrok students is at the forefront when we adapt our COVIDSafe training plans. We recognise that the current Omicron strain outbreak is causing high numbers of infections in the community and would like to assure you that the training plan we have put in place coming into 2022 is more conservative than the requirements placed on us by the ACT and Federal Government restrictions. You will notice that we have mandatory (MUST) requirements in our training plan as well as RECOMMENDED steps to protect you and your family. As we begin training in 2022, please:
MUST – Wear a mask on arrival to the club, before classes and immediately after classes and when not engaging in vigorous exercise (12+ years old)
RECOMMENDED – Wear a mask while training if you feel comfortable to do so
MUST – Select one training partner at the beginning of the class and do not swap training partners during the class
RECOMMENDED – Train within your family groups
MUST – Wash or sanitise your hands on arrival at the club and after training
RECOMMENDED – Wash or sanitise your hands during breaks
MUST – Disinfect equipment after use
RECOMMENDED – Don’t share equipment, where possible
MUST – Do not attend if you feel unwell
MUST – Continue to check in using the CheckInCBR QR code/app
While there are no restrictions on class sizes imposed by ACT Government, our small class sizes will remain so that we do not exceed 1 person/4 square metres density. We will continue to maximise our airflow by training with windows and doors open and fans on. We also regularly disinfect surfaces and engage the services of a professional cleaner.
The new definition of a close contact, as adopted by ACT Government, means that it is extremely unlikely that anyone training at Sangrok will be regarded as a close contact, however, in the event that a COVID positive person attends our dojang, the above measures, that go above and beyond national and state requirements, will protect our members to the best of our ability.
Finally, our Sangrok team is fully vaccinated and booked in for booster vaccinations when due.
ANNUAL INSURANCE
We will send out information soon about annual insurance, in line with new Australian Taekwondo protocols.
SUMMER TSHIRTS
It has finally warmed up in Canberra. You can wear a plain navy, plain white, or Sangrok branded tshirt to training in January and February. Please no singlets for hygiene reasons.
