We have a busy term lined up at Sangrok with lots of gradings and events! As the weather warms up remember to bring a drink bottle to training so you can keep hydrated!
SCHOOL HOLIDAY TRAINING
We will be running classes as usual over the holidays, however, there will be no training on Monday 3 October due to the public holiday.
GRADING DATES
Our black belt grading has been scheduled for Sunday 27 November. This grading is for anyone grading to cho dan bo or a Dan rank. To be considered for this grading, ensure you have completed your pre-grading assessment by no later than 13 November.
The next coloured belt grading is on Saturday 10 December. For any red belts hoping to grade, you must have completed your pre-grading assessment prior to 26 November.
Remember that class attendance is the first step when your instructors consider students for grading, therefore, it is essential that you sign in for every class.
SANGROK CAMP
Master Pravin will be running a taekwondo camp (in Canberra) on the 12th and 13th of November. The camp will include training, games, theory, and, of course, pizza! More information to come soon!
PINK BELT PROJECT
The Pink Belt Project aims to empower women on their recovery journey by connecting them with martial arts for healing, health, wellbeing and growth by providing martial arts scholarships to women in need – particularly women healing from the trauma of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault. Applications for the Pink Belt Project scholarships open in October. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this initiative, please get in touch with us and we can give you more information.
SEPTEMBER GRADING
Well done to all the students who received new belts at our September grading! It was great to see your demonstrate your taekwondo skills.
AUSTRALIAN TAEKWONDO INSURANCE AND MEMBERSHIPS
We are still waiting for confirmation from AT regarding insurances and AT membership, we expect that this will happen in the next week or 2 and we will debit for the yearly AT fees then. Please note that this is for the 2022 year. The following was published in our September Newsletter:
We have been in discussions this year regarding our Australian Taekwondo (AT) insurance and membership. We would usually charge the insurance fee ($30pp) for the year early in January/February, however, AT have a new direct membership system which started up this year. To save you time, we have been able to arrange for AT to manually enter our members onto their system instead. Over the coming week we will be registering each of our members with AT (this is mandatory for insurance coverage) and charging a reduced AT membership fee to your account ($20 rather than $30). Following our discussion with AT it is expected that the registration process will be smoother and faster next year. If you have any questions, please get in touch with the team: info@sangrok.net.au.
